Some deceivers are good at deceiving, others not so much...

Hi notmartha,
I think the article was thought provoking and on point on most issues it addressed.
Thanks for posting it.

That was a good read; thank you for posting/sharing it.

Reminds me of the origin of a lot of false churches, or what I call businesses.

I've done a bit of studying into the matter. Do you recall 'Simon the sorcerer' in the book of Acts chapter 8. He tried to buy the power of the Holy Spirit from the Disciples, and they rebuked him.

This Simon the sorcerer apparently went to the romans and started his bogus version of Christianity. He may have even been the first pope.

In a site called 'the Christian Etheral library' you can read all about him. There is even writings documenting a debate between him and Peter.

I offer the above Not as teaching and I in no way wish to sway anyone in their beliefs; just my observations.

Dumpster,

I agree that churches, inc. are among the biggest deceivers, whether intentionally done or not. They will have some splainin' to do for sure.

trust your instincts. For me, if the idea is too good to be true. I give myself a barrier to believe for that.
