Re: US-backed coup in Bolivia – Lithium

Post by Firestarter »

Evo Morales blamed the UK for the lithium coup (while earlier he pointed the fingers to the US).
Last year it was reported, “United Kingdom supported the coup in Bolivia to access its ‘white gold,’” lithium. And they had invested, they had financed it; it was not just their verbal support. That is why in the days of coup the British ambassador was in continuous meetings with the opposition, with the coup plotters.
.
Bolivia's former president Evo Morales has credited Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that "After the coup d’etat he saved my life"...
Last month, Evo Morales was the guest of of Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the 212th anniversary of Mexico’s independence. Why were Assange's family members at this event?!?

See from left: Luis Cresencio Sandoval; José Rafael Ojeda; Pepe Mujica (former President of Uruguay); Evo Morales; Aleida Guevara (daughter of Che Guevara); Gabriel Shipton and John Shipton (brother and father of Julian "Assange").

The following explains how the UK embassy in Bolivia was involved in orchestrating the coup.
In February 2019, the British embassy paid £9,981 to the Thomson Reuters Foundation to train 30 Bolivian journalists on “verification techniques and pre-planning an election on coverage that is balanced, accurate and free of polarisation”.

In March 2019, the UK embassy organised a “major event” in Laz Paz on cybersecurity for financial institutions. Its funders included the US State Department, UK Foreign Office, the British Army, and BP and Chevron.
The keynote presentation was given by the British Watchman, that was set up in 2016 by Christopher Goodwin-Hudson, who worked 9 years in the British Army, before becoming executive director of global security for Goldman Sachs.
Other presentations were delivered by British cybersecurity firm Darktrace, that was founded by MI5 (British intelligence) and GCHQ (the British NSA).

The OAS' discredited "voter fraud" report, was based largely on information from the British embassy that supposedly Morales’ share of the vote jumped inexplicably in the final ballots.

The UK embassy also co-funded a project to “optimise Bolivia’s lithium exploration and production (in the Coipasa and Pastos Grandes salars) using British technology”, to be implemented by the Oxford-based Satellite Applications Catapult. Its main funder was the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB).
After the coup, this project quickly moved forward: https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article ... hite-gold/

Naturally, Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega has denounced the 2019 "lithium coup", supposedly orchestrated by the US, against his ally, Bolivian President Evo Morales.
See Morales with Ortega.
